Move Day Pro Tips!

It’s the start of Moving Season and we are here to help our Northwest Arkansas community! Are you ready for your upcoming move this year?

Dedicated to customer satisfaction and the best service available our crews go above and beyond to make the most of every move! Howeve,r there are a few things you can do to make sure your move goes even SMOOTHER.

Below is a list of actions you can take to make sure your move is as easy and difficult-free as it possibly could be, whether it’s town to town or state to state.

1.) Declutter - it will always be helpful to start organizing and getting rid of any unwanted junk prior to your move date. if you decide to pack your own boxes you can declutter as you pack! Just dont forget we can help you pack too. If your having a crew pack for you make sure to go through all your drawers and get any important papers or personal effects. ( it usually takes a few weeks to unpack, so if you dont have your important belongings secure it could be a few weeks until you see them again)

2.) Make a path - unless you choose our white glove service, which allows clients to sit back and let us handle the entire move from start to finish, chances are you will begin to start moving things around. Make sure you have a clear walkway for the move crew. They will need access to each room and a large area to wrap furniture in our special moving blankets! If you ordered packing services make sure any available surface is cleared of any junk or debris.

3.) Parking the moving truck - 99% of the time our crews come with a 26’ moving truck. Make sure the crew will have adequate parking upon arrival. if you’re in a residential home we will try to use the driveway. in instances where the driveway is too short or severely inclined/ declined we will use the street. if you are moving from an apartment make sure to notify the office and try to reserve 3-4 consecutive parking spaces outside your apartment building.

4.) How do you want your new home staged? - When the movers arrive the crew leader will complete a walk-through with you. it is important to note to the crew leader what items stay and what items go. if you know how you’d like your house arranged upon delivery make sure to let the crew know which items go first and which items go last. I.E. if you have a large living room rug and it needs to go down before any furniture that rug would need to be placed last at the end of the truck.

5.) Time is money, make the discount! - A lot of the times our services are billed hourly by the number of men on the crew. we know moving is expensive already so we try to save our clients as much money as possible. Many times clients will disassemble their furniture or disconnect appliances to save the crew time. you can also pull items from your attic or stage smaller items in the garage to save yourself time and in the end MONEY.

6.) Sticky Notes - These are your best friends on moving day! putting sticky notes on the door of each room or even individual items will help keep your crew organized. All the boxes packed and furniture prepped can be labeled the same as the sticky note from whatever room it came from. This will stop you from being asked “Where does this go?” a million times by the crew.
