Moving Equipment Explained

When you hire movers it’s for a variety of reasons - convenience, time, organizational skills, and specialized equipment. Often when people move themselves, they end up spending close to the same amount they would have spent hiring a moving team because of all the little extra things they find they are missing. As professional movers, we have all the specialized and necessary equipment to save you time, stress, and maybe even a little money. So, what are some of these special tools you ask?

Hoisting Straps

We use hoisting straps to help us lift all your heavy belongings - large shelving units, couches, chairs, dressers, and all the other heavy objects you have filling your space. Our straps even allow us to safely lower belongings outside through windows which can save a lot of time and energy as well as mental math that comes with navigating a tight staircase, hallway, or narrow door.

Moving Blanket

We have hundreds of padded moving blankets at our disposal that we use to wrap and protect each piece of your furniture. That way when we’re navigating your grandmother's antique headboard around that pointed handrail you’ve always hated, the headboard comes out unscathed. These awesome blankets also protect your upholstery from dust and dirt as well as damage that could come from being jostled around in the moving truck.

Shrink Wrap

On top of each padded blanket, we can further protect your belongings by shrink wrapping everything into place. This ensures that the blankets stay in place during the chaos of moving. It also guarantees that your belongings stay padded and wrapped all the way to your new home and not just onto the truck.

2 Wheel Dolly

We’ll admit, you probably have one of these. We don’t blame you; they are super handy to have around! We use ours to stack up your boxes and get several out to the truck in one trip. And not to toot our own horn, but as the professionals we are, you may find yourself impressed by some of our 2-wheel dolly skills and tricks we possess.

4 Wheel Dolly

If you have a long walk from your place to the truck, or use an elevator, 4-wheel dollies are amazing. Think of an industrial hotel cart. We can stack these things to the top and move a dozen or more boxes at once. It also makes for easy hauling of all your Christmas decoration bins. This tool is a huge time saver.

Appliance Dolly

Are you bringing your refrigerator, garage freezer, washing machine, or dryer with you to your new house? Have you ever tried to pick one of them up? While we’re sure you could manage, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be any fun. We have an appliance dolly that is much bigger and has a stronger frame. This tool is made to handle the weight of all your large appliances. Sometimes we’ll use our previously mentioned straps to easily move and lift the appliance onto the dolly before efficiently moving it out to the truck for relocation.

Ramps

Do you have stairs out of your house? What about the lift from the ground up to the bed of the moving truck? These easily navigable spaces on normal days can become quite the challenge when you are moving the contents of your entire home down, over, across, and up them. We have ramps that simply help things run smoother. Not having to stop to gently lower your dolly over a few steps or lift a heavy piece of furniture into the truck just makes life easier.

Piano Board

Pianos are beautiful, expensive, crafted instruments that can easily be damaged if moved carelessly. Our team has specialized straps and equipment that ensure your piano is moved in a safe way that will keep is in great condition in your new home.

Tools

You may be thinking “Hey! I have plenty of tools!” And while we are sure that’s true, we ask you this, “will you really know where they are, and will they be easily accessible on moving day?” The whole point of moving is having all your things packed away safely to get them from your old place to your new place without them getting lost. If your tools are packed come moving day (which hopefully they are), the convenience of your moving team having tools will make breaking down furniture and fixing little mistakes much easier.
